Ukraine
Ukraine, one of Europe’s largest states with over 42 million consumers, offers a strategically important market supported by abundant natural resources such as fertile land, coal, iron ore, manganese, titanium, and iron. With a GDP of nearly 131 billion USD, the country plays a growing role as an emerging economic hub.Since 2015, economic policies emphasize high-tech agriculture, machine-building, and IT, while since 2019, a liberal currency law has facilitated capital transfers abroad, improving investor confidence, however in the current circumstances, certain limitations apply on foreign currency transfer due to the Martial Law in force.
Ukraine’s economy is driven by strong sectors including agriculture, energy, metallurgy, chemicals, manufacturing, and a rapidly expanding IT and high-tech industry. Internationally, it has signed 18 free trade agreements with 47 countries, with the 2014 Association Agreement with the European Union anchoring its integration into global markets. Ukraine’s path of reform and international integration continues to create openings for European investors with a long-term strategic vision.
